New Puppy -- Meet Mr. Cuddle Buttons
« on: April 02, 2008, 10:26:59 am »
This is a puppy I got last week from Paige of Lone Star Pyrs and Paws Rescue.  He's an absolute joy and is a cheerful addition to our family. Here he is playing in a huge clover patch in my backyard.

Paige suggested I join this forum so here I am.  I'm enjoying everyone else's pets too!  ;D

So great to be here.  I love all these big dogs!

Mr. Cuddle Buttons is just 10 weeks old or so.  He's SO smart.    He definitely has a bit of a stubborn streak I can tell, but he's easily cajoled out of it!

He has some soft poo thing going on, but it's not constant.  He alternates with soft 'logs'. Paige suggested I get some pumpkin (not the 'pie' kind) and I'm going to the store later today to do that.

I have been slowly introducing him to the leash. I've let him drag it around here and we've walked three times (once a day for about 30 seconds).  I am wanting a big dog to walk with for obvious reasons.  Each time has been a positive experience for him. He is easy to lead.

I have another dog, an older dog -- part chow mix, and they are getting along well. Brownie does not want to play but he doesn't mind the pup bouncing around him. After a while he lets out a 'woof' and Mr. Cuddle Buttons lays down immediately and shows Brownie his belly. Such a well considerate and respectful puppy!

I'm attaching a photo of Brownie. He's about 15 years old.

We also have three cats.  All were strays that came around and stayed around. We fixed them and fed them and fell in love with them. Two of them won't come near the back yard. The orange maine coon, though lives in the backyard and dogs don't bother him a bit.  He's a brave one.

Welcome to BPO!  I'm Stephanie, mom to Sierra the Newf.  She is 13 months old and my loveable little maniac.

Your puppers are so beautiful!  That puppy is absolutely adorable and seeing the pic of Brownie makes me smile and gives me a warm feeling.  My best friend had a fawn Chow, Tucker, who was just the most wonderful dog.  Unfortunately, Tucker is now at the Bridge, but we still miss her and love her.

This is a great site and I guarantee you'll love it here!

Hey Paige (and everyone),

Yes, it is good to be here!  What a wonderful welcome from all of you. Thank you!!!

Mr. Cuddlebuttons still is having an issue with diarrhea. It's worse today than yesterday,  so this morning I took him and his poo to the local vet and just got the info that it is negative for worms.  I was told to give him only bland food the next few days, a spoonful every hour or so.  So I have brown rice cooking, chicken breasts, and eggs boiling right now.  Oh, I have the pumpkin, too (not the pie kind).

He's still active, happy, and playful.
