Canadian Eh?
« on: July 07, 2008, 11:46:29 am »
Does anyone know of any quality dog foods made in Canada?  Possibly grain free, and or single proteins as well?

Oven Baked Traditions;
We tried the fish with Titan but he would not eat it.
They also have a chicken (allergic too)
And a Lamb (gives him the runs)
I thought it was a very good food. Ingrediants looked very good.
The other one is Shure Gain; again with the different protein sources Titan can not eat. They are from Guelph. I have heard good things about there food too. A breader in Cambridge (golden retreiver's) swears by there food. She feeds and has been feeding Sure Gain for 15 years. It does have Corn it though?
Hope this helps.... :)
Here are the web-sites for both. :)

Orijen!! It's Canadian and follows the a lot of the same philosophies as Innova. I know at the Ryan's (Global Pets) in Guelph you buy X# of bags and get one  free, plus they always have store coupons in those flyers you get! When feeding our big pups these things are very handy ;)

Legacy by Horizon Pet Food. Awesome grain free, all ingredients are sourced locally and its made in Saskatchewan. Boston is now on raw, but this was by far our fav kibble for him.

Orijen! I switched and just love it. Tripper finally put some weight on and the dogs love it too.

That's awesome!  Thanks guys!  I didn't know that there were so many good Canadian companies.  That's a little bit of research for me to do, so I'll let you all know how it goes when I get low enough on the Canadae to do the old switcheroo.   :)
