Cygnets (pictures added)
« on: July 10, 2008, 03:22:40 pm »
So, 6 cygnets arrived :) The same size, different breed - they are Cygnus cygnus, and sooo different song - they are like orchestra together now ... Just beautiful... Eddy was making more nervous noises, this lot ... So paceful, like a lullaby.

Too busy tonight to make pictures, but I promise a lot tomorrow. They are beautiful!

OMG - they are cute.... and what a beautiful chorus ... their adorable chirps actually inspired my old man Blu to get up out of his bed with the curiosity of a young pup!  :)

I've just viewed the videos again, Anna. I enjoy watching and listening so much and I'm ever so intrigued with this whole process you are doing in rearing these little ones, the rehabilitation and reintrodution to the wild.

I am, I must say, SO impressed with how your Fur Babies accept and interact with the Feathered Family. :-*  ;)  :)

Well, just few more pictures
Walking to the pond

Wow! Water!

Quick swim around to check things out here

And this is me and one of my babies :D

By some unknown reason my mum is most popular human. We suspect that it is her trainers :D

Time to go back home

Back at home

This is movable pen, so when they finish with grass in one place, we move to the next patch. And when we have spare time, we take them out for free gazing.

I love these pictures Anna! The 'Portable Pen' is such a wonderful idea. One of my neighbors does that with some of their fowl. Great rotational idea!  :) Fresh grazing on a continuous basis. I'm trying to pick out Eddy in the photos. Is he the one right before the one of your Mum?

Mum seems to enjoy the little ones as much as they enjoy her.  :-*

Grace, our mum of all cygnets

Come here babies!

All is ok?

Time to go home, my darlings!

You to, young man!

Probably I must clean THIS like a good mum?

Pictures are sweet, but I'm worried, actually. Cygnets like dogs now and do not look at them as possible danger - they treat our big fluffy Grace as a mum, and it could lead them into big trouble later when they will be released in wildlife. So thes cute sweeterness has a bit bitter taste.
