Help w/Mixed Breed ID
« on: July 23, 2008, 03:17:25 pm »
3 weeks ago I rescued a male Black Lab mix puppy from the local Animal Shelter.
His name is Finn, and he is an AWESOME puppy and a wonderful addition to our family!
He is sweet, mellow, laid-back, loves people and other dogs, and learns quickly.
I was wondering if you guys could help with input in what you think he might be mixed with. I have my own theories, but I'd like to see what you think. Whatever it is, it's BIG!
There is some confusion on his age since he was received at the shelter as a stray and was malnourished at the time as well, which could have affected his development.
The best guess to his age right now is 14-15 weeks. He has NO adult teeth and hasn't lost any baby teeth. He weighs 37 lbs. today.
Here are some pics taken yesterday:

Hello,

Finn's face is 1000% pure bred Lab. The only area I would question is his somewhat wavy coat. He's a very handsome boy. My Lab girl would date him in a heartbeat if he was only a bit older. Don't you wonder how anyone could give him up? You will love this site-

Yup, I'd have to say from the pix, he looks all lab to me.  The only thing in question might be his slightly longer coat.  I guess one will just have to wait and see what he looks like when he's a bit bigger.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else. He looks extremely huggable, too!!

Keep posting those pix! I love his big smile!

Wow...what a beautiful coat and head.  No one would second guess you on his breed if you said lab.  It will be exciting to see how big he gets with those paws.  Congrats on your addition!!!!
