Anyone tried JD prescription food
« on: September 04, 2008, 11:11:17 am »
Hi everyone,
I haven't been on for awhile cause I forgot my password. If any of you remember we have a dogue de bordeau named Maximus.
when he was younger and was fixed, he had his hips x-rayed and showed he had hip displasia. He has done quite well with it but lately when he runs around alot, he becomes quite lame in his rear legs.
so the doctor wants to start him on this dog food rather than put him on rimadyl or the like at such a young age. Maximus is two years old.
thanks for any input

thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. Maximus is very fussy lately. He got stung by hornets a few months ago and I put benadryl in his peanut butter in a bone and now he doesn't trust me.
I would like to put a picture of him on this forum, any suggestions where to put it.
I hate to tell the vet no about the food, but I see it is chicken product and Maximus will not eat dog food with chicken in it.
I really can't afford 61.00 for 30 lbs of food
this dog is 130 lbs so he eats alot
