Question about female Newfs

I've only had one female dog, a Shepard many years ago and I don't remember having this problem. Sophie has sensitive skin and her nether-regions are alway inflamed from urine soaked hair. I keep that area trimmed, but it's like she always has a bit of diaper rash. Surely most female dogs can pee without this constant problem? I really can't rinse her every time she pees. I swear, the girl needs a bidet.

I never see her licking the area and she doesn't seem bothered by it. Is this normal and I'm making a big deal out of it?

I never thought about a UTI. She has been a bit subdued lately. And I already have baby wipes for Chili. If I don't wipe him he scoots on the carpet.

Silly me. I thought my days of bottom wiping were done.
