I debated about responding to this post. Change is good but I am very worried about the type of change that we will see. Not sure about the rest of you, but I remember comments from Obama about he wasnt unhappy about 4.00 a gallon gas, he was just dissappointed that it got to that price so quickly, however 5.00 a gallon would be fine by him. Also his thoughts on conservation and if he raises our electrical rates 2-3 times then we would not be so wasteful. His suggestion was to put on another sweater. I am sure that they dont apply extra layers of clothing on thier children at nite so that they will not be cold, no I am thinking he turns the heat up, if our electric rates double, I will not be able to even turn on my heater, I suppose I will invest in extra sweaters.
My husband and I have never made more than 100k a year, so we should be ecstatic that Obama was elected, we are not. Penalize the small businesses that employ people that make less than 100k and they will lay those employees off. My company did just that this week.
Lots of promises were made, there is not enough money to fulfill the promises. Another stimulus check will not offset the other hardships.
Also not sure how many of you are gun owners, I am in Texas, we own guns for many reasons. He is proposing a 200% tax on gun sales and ammo. I think that is discriminating against gun owners. His tax will not penalize the gangs or the illegal gun owners, only those who follow the law.
I will join the NRA this week.
As far as the war, there are no winners, however an immediate pull out is not the answer. I do have close friends in the middle of this war and even they agree, it will have long lasting negative effects on the US, including setting us up for possibly being attacked once again here at home.
If Obama leads by example, and not as a Socialist, then I congrat him, however so far he has not earned my trust.
God Bless America and her citizens in the upcoming future, this economy has been heading in the wrong direction for too many years and it is a bi-partisan problem.
I at one time was a Bush supporter, however he,like so many politicians before him betrayed so many people and made so many promises that he broke.
I wasnt happy with either candidate so I will do the best to survive the next four years and pray that Obama is not the Socialist that his views protrayed on the campaign trail.
