I will say that if we looked at party affiliations on BOTH sides of the comments...ho hum..time to move forward..

President Elect Obama is our incoming president and if people cannot manage to support his choice in dogs, then some people will have plenty of upsetting days, months, years, terms going forward.

Those children will adore their dog, it's something they have been looking forward to owning. For those with kids the same age as the Obama girls...can you imagine telling your child, "No dear, Hilda the servant will play ball with your dog?"

As many have said, this White House dog adoption can be very supportive of our animals in need...which is what we all want! :D

Peru has offered them their national dog since it is supposed to be hypoallergenic .
