I just got a wireless card for work a few weeks ago and told my boss that i was going to shut off my home phone because i really don't need it anymore with unlimited minutes on my cell phone.  I called AT & T to do the deed and ok the lady ended up gaving me 1/2 off my bill for life ($9 a month for basic phone) and 1/2 off the internet for 6 months.  my phone bill is now $22 a month instead of $50.   might want to try it.  I'm sure they are getting a ton of people calling to do the same thing and are trying to keep business.
