Farewell, Emmett Kelly

has an appt to lay to rest friday the 26 in my yard at ten in the morning.
my noble old man is ready to make the journey, to go join sampson and my sweet angel haddie.
with much love, this decision was an agonizing one for me.
Emmett has had such a wonderful adventure filled lifetime, doing SAR for six years, and excelling at it, he surprised many of the GSD and my own hubby whom i met doing the Sar work, he and recon joined us together, and with much hurt, i will let him go.
i am taking comfort in the fact that his life was so full, compared to my angel Hadley.

I am so sorry it is time for him to go.

Their stays on earth with us are so brief, yet filled with endless joy and love. That is why we love them so, I believe. That pure selfless adoration that we see each time we look into those intelligent eyes.

I wish him a peaceful release from his earthly body, and for you, I wish you peace. You are giving him the last wonderful gift you can, the release from his worn out body.

I am sure his heart is still just a lovely and pure as it ever was.

If I did not think they would be waiting on us when it's our turn, I'm not sure I could bear the losses.

I will keep you close in my thoughts tomorrow morning.

I've been in your shoes, and I know how it feels.

I wish you JOY in all the wonderful memories I know you have of such a great worker as he was, and may time somehow dim the brutal pain of his loss.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. It is a very difficult thing to do. In your heart you know it is right. The memorial is beautiful. Sounds like he had a very full and loving life. May his passing be quick and gentle. He has earned his wings.

I am sorry for your great loss and will be thinking of you tomorrow at 10 am.  There will be so many times in the coming weeks you will feel his presence or hear a footstep behind you and you will know he is with you.  So many here have comforted me these past 2 weeks in my grief and I know as you reach out, we will be right here for you too.  I does help to talk about it and all the people here will comfort and let you talk about him.  My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time....

you guys are great, i am at peace with my decision, he is laying by my chair, he is at peace to.
i know he will be grateful to be set free.
he and recon brought my hubby and i together, now they will both be gone.
