New newf to the group
« on: August 29, 2005, 04:23:55 pm »
Hi Everyone,
I have been checking out this site for a few weeks now and I LOVE it!  Figured it was about time I say Hello!  :)

I am the proud owner of Bailey, my 8 month old newfoundland.  He is my first newf and now I want more!!  My husband and I also have an 8 year old queensland heeler named Keelo who isn't nearly as fond of Bailey as we are.  We live in Santa Barbara, California and love taking the dogs out every chance we get!  Bailey loves the dog park, beaches, lakes and anywhere there are people and animals to meet.

I am already spending way too much time (at work) reading all of your stories but I just can't stay away.

Welcome to you and Bailey!  I have two newfs:  Chester, a six month old brown and Cowboy a 2 1/2 year old Landseer.  Did you walk Bailey in the Big Dog Parade?  I live in southern Calif but go to Santa Barbara often....it's such a beautiful place!!!

You brought up a bad topic...the Big Dog parade :(
I was sooooo excited to have a newf puppy to take to the parade, as it neared I soon realized I had a prior commitment that weekend.  I did everything to try to get out of it, but with no luck.
My husband went and Bailey loved every minute of it.  I got a play by play over the phone and with pictures but it still makes me sad that I missed it!

This coming year though, I will be there no matter what!

Hi and welcome to BPO!!!  Bailey is so awesome!  :)

I can't believe we didn't see your husband and Bailey at the Big Dog parade--we took Sasha but didn't walk in the parade.  She loved it too!  ;D  I'm so sorry you didn't get to go too.

Hi Jessica,
Now I'm jealous.
My husband and Bailey also just watched and didn't walk it, so I bet that's why you didn't see them.

Welcome.  There are so many Newfs here that now I am getting addicted to them.   They seem so sweet.  Tell me something, do people turn heads when you walk in crowds?   Do they talk and giggle and try to hug?  I would if I saw one walking down the road. They always have such smiles on their faces.  I am getting hooked.

Welcome to BPO! Bailey is such a good looking boy.  You guys have me thinking how good a newf would look with my two Pyrs.
