Wobblers Syndrome
« on: September 06, 2005, 01:59:53 pm »
Can anyone give me some alternatives to having the surgery for this syndrome?  I have a 7 month old Great Pyrenees and the vet seems to think it is Wobblers Syndrome.  Supposed to go to Purdue for further testing, but need some advance info if possible.

Thanks,

Tina

There was a reference to a surgery done on this thread on BPO.  Doesn't give detail, but you could ask about it.

I don't know if this would work for you or not.  Sorry to hear that he might have this disease.

A man I helped with Dane rescue had a Dane pup named Winter who recently was put down due to severe Wobblers.  He had 3 surgeries for wobblers, and went through gold bead therapy.  He was the sweetest dog though.  His dad wrote a write up about him.

Unfortunately I haven't heard much from him since Winter's loss. :(
