Gretchen and Tealk weren't getting along too well. That was until Tealk started licking her ear. ::) :D

Me too.. I've always wondered about the ear thing..but also about the licking in the mouse thing...are they cleaning each other?
Anyway, I love watching them doing that... ;D
Now I think Gretchen has to lick Tealk ear's...and see what happens... ???

There is a Visla pup that makes a beeline to Tulsa whenever he comes to the park. Starts licking her mouth and submitting. Tulsa backs up in every conceivable direction to avoid the attention. You can almost hear her spit and say 'Phooey'! The pup persists, and Tulsa puts a paw on him and gives a low growl, and the pup runs.
The funny part, though, is when the pup confronts a dog that can hurt it, Tulsa is there to protect the pup!

I think it is a grooming thing to show submission and love.

Sometimes when I am sitting on the floor, zoey will come over and lick my ear  :o I think it is super gross, but I know she only does it cause she loves me

Yup!  Seems like it.  Lady likes to lick my paws.  :)  She must think I'm filthy or she just really loves me.  Grace goes for the ears.
