Searching for German Shepherd
« on: October 01, 2005, 01:34:23 am »
HI, I am new to this forum and I did so because I am looking for a new soul mate. I want to find a German Shepherd, preferably purebred because I show in obedience, sometimes Schutzhund. Preferably a male, young dog but am open to an older dog as well. He will be the king of our home, we have 2 spayed older doberman females but my heart is really in German Shepherds and the dobes belong to my daughter and my husband and I lost my soulmate dog last year and am finally ready to love and bond with another after the grief period. We have 5 acres in the country (fenced) with horses, barn cats and 5 teenagers (would rather have a dog!!) :-X Anyhow, if anyone knows of any dogs like I am looking for PLEASE contact me. High drive is fine, but must be civil with kids. I prefer German bred not American but am really pretty open. Thank you in advance. Lori Snyder  snyderdobes2@elltel.net    www.snyderdobe s.com

I take it you're retired from breeding?  I tried your website and it didn't work, so I did a search on your email addy and found the http://www.vonsnyderzwinger.com/ site.  I would think that a dog that you desire could be easily found by a working dog breeder.  Since you desire the working dog lines go to Schutzhund meets.  Go to your local Schutzhund club's website, and ask around there.  Just be careful, in the area where you are there are a lot of backyard breeders.  I just found a working lines GSD for a friend of mine, and it's really hard to pick through the chaff to find the wheat.  Good luck.

Lori, don't you have contacts from your obedience, SchH friends?

I can't get into your website, is it down?

What state are you in? I"ll see if I can dig up some contacts for you.
