Eggs? My husband found the strangest thing...
« on: October 01, 2005, 05:20:47 am »
My husband found 2 tiny (1 inch or so) eggs in the garden today.  They are white with a tiny bit of very light blue coloring.  They have hard shells like birds eggs but they are just in the garden and there doesn't seem to be a nest or anything.  No birds or other creatures were anywhere around.  Does anyone know what they are?  Have they been abandoned?  Could they ever hatch?  Thanks!

Well, there are some birds that lay their eggs on the ground.

Like the sandpiper or killdeer, or other birds in the same family.

That's the only thing I can think of as to why there would be two unbroken eggs in your garden.  A bird decided to make it's nest there.
