Hi GS Lover,

Welcome to BPO! To get an avatar (the pic that shows up with every post), you need to first go to 'profile' under 'user tools' on the right side of the screen, then click on 'Forum Profile Information' on the left side of the screen. There you can upload a photo.

If you are getting a red X instead of the photo you wanted (like what is happening with your avatar right now), it usually means that your file is too big. Try resizing/compressing it.
