Hi Group - first post - at Michelle's suggestion am posting a few pics, to see if anyone has any ideas on what kind of dog Norton was. He weighed about 130#. We think almost certainly some Newf, and maybe some Rott, becayse in juuuuuuuuust the right light he had a faint orage tinge to muzzle and forelegs

(He died of liver cancer last April - and we are looking for another like him)

For sure rotti...he has the same head as Puck in that last picture. Looks like mixed with a lab maybe?
He almost looks like a rotti(without the mahogony colouring) with an undocked tail. Puck is 136#

Thanks for responding Karen - smiles - lab rott  is our SECOND guess - but would a lab rott mix get to 130, you think?

OH WOW... he looks exactly and I mean EXACTLY like a dog I used to have who was half Rottweiler and half Labrador. I knew exactly who the parents were...(my rottweiler Spirit and the neighbor's labrador Norm. Oops...)
I'll post a picture of him. Adams was his name, and he was about 105 to 110 lbs. I LOVED that dog.
I hope you are able to find another one like Norton, what a gorgeous guy.

There is a rotti lb mix that lives behind me but he isnt 130lbs but looks like him with the feautres

I agree with everyone else... he does look like a rotti lab mix... now I'm not sure how much rotti's weigh, but my lab {pure breed} weighed 110lbs...





Speaking of newf/lab mixes... anyone know of any up for adoption??? Would love to get one!!
