Blessed Newfs

I don't know if anybody else did this, but last Sunday here in Novato, St. Anthony's Catholic Church did their annual "Blessing of the Animals".  We were out of town but Mia was nice enough to take Drake and Yogi to be blessed.  It is an old tradition that was started by St. Francis of Assisi, hundreds of years ago and many churches did it last weekend.

We heard there were lots of dogs and cats there, and even a few birds and rabbits.  Even though we aren't very religious, it was a nice thing to do and we really appreciated Mia taking the dogs.  She and her Mom even made flower necklaces for the dogs to wear and I think Drake ate his.  Here's a pic.

WOW! Great pic! And what a cool thing to do. We had an animal blessing day in my town, but i missed it. I guess there was lots of cool animals there. Someone brought a silver fox.

They have one here every year at Easter. I missed it last year though. But I'll go this year.  ;D And that is a beautiful picture.
