big dogs
« on: October 15, 2005, 06:06:48 am »

I currently own a bullmastiff, great dane, and two cane corsos.  Does anyone around here have any of these breeds or mix of these breeds.  I saw the one Bullmastiff/cane corso mix.  I think her name was Kia.  How is that dog?  Temperament wise?

Hello.

I have a great dane Gunther.  And I love the cane corso breed, and hope to get one someday.

Welcome! I don't own any of the breeds you mentioned, but Bullmastiffs are one of my favorites and would love to own one! I also highly admire Corsos :)

The 1st one is in colloquial french and the 2nd is in latin.  Both reflect my view of life.   :)

Hello, and welcome. I have a Cane Corso ( orion) and Kia the Bullmastiff x cane corso mix.
Kia is only 5 moths old so she is still a puppy and has lots of growing up to do. She is very smart ( sometimes to smart), interactive but not overly pushy. She adores people, running up to them and leaning on them with elephant ears ( submissive ) . She loves and respects everyone in the house, but is definitly my cling on ( as is Orion). She is confident in public with sights, sounds and surfaces. She will alert bark if someone comes to the door. She loves the dogs ( 12) that she sees on a regular basis, but is bitchy at first when meeting new dogs.
I was looking for another "gaurd" dog when we got her, and with Orion getting older, I wanted him to teach her the ropes. I also take my dogs to work with me everyday, so they have to tolerate strangers and dogs. So far, so good with her...
any other questions, please ask!
