Oh yeah, I just realised that I should elaborate some since not everyone knows about deafness and the merle/harl genes.
Statistically speaking 25% of puppies from a merle x merle, harl x harl, or merle x harl breeding will be deaf and/or blind. Breeders can stop this by simply breeding merle/harl to a solid based dog, but usually they don't and most of them just kill the mostly white pups(or in aussies, shelties, doxies, collies, catahoulas-the ones with mostly white heads). That's why I said I'll probably always have deaf aussies and danes.
