growing up so quick!!

today, i gave fumble a bath, because he went and romped around in the ocean earlier! and his puppy fur is starting to fall out!  I can't wait till he gets bigger! but i'm really going to miss that soft and adorable puppy fur!  I swear, everyday something changes about him!  he's getting so old! and he's only 14 weeks, and a good solid 52 lBS!

that is a bit large for 14 weeks, make sure he is thin, it is not good that they grow so fast.
be sure that you dont concentrate on getting him huge to quick
he should be up to ten pounds over the age of months
so four months up to fifty pounds for males, for females less, of course it depends on the lines but from his picture he does not look like he is from huge boned line sfrom the start, that will come in time
be careful!!
moniter that weight closely, feel ribs EASILY and spine!!

Grace is a happy puppy too...I think some dogs just really LOVE being puppies.

He is in fact, off the ground! he was jumping! hehee...

fumble does come from a very large breed line!  the last time i saw his father, he was 175, and that was while the gals were in heat.  so that means that he definately weighs more!  his mom, i believe is about 150.  I emailed the breeder giving them an update, so i figure that if they think something is up that they will contact me.  I can still feel his ribs and his backbone.. so maybe he's just going to go through a stalling period soon...

I stay away from oversized, generally it is not healthy, they grow way to fast and are way to large at a young age wich does affect their joints in the long run,
a 180 pound dog cant walk three miles without fading quickly, in our breed it is BEST to stick with the standard size.
those who breed for oversized are asking for nothing but trouble.grante d very few 180 pounders dont have trouble, but i have yet to see those few run and have the endurance to do the things they were meant to.
People who are impressed and brag about huge are not sold a pup from myself.
these dogs are NOT st bernards Nor are they Mastiff, if people want 180-200 pound dogs i tell them go get a mastiff.
be careful and aware of his structure keep him thin if you dont, you may have a lot of problems with joints.

I agree with you on the size issue, but i did choose a very reputible breedeR!  his mum qualified for westminster, and they have breeded very healthy puppies!  His pop, just happened to be a big boy!  I am VERY overprotective about the hips and knees stuff! he takes sooo many vitamins! and my breeder has outlined all of the dosage amounts and what to give him at what size!  I am also very cautious about the amount of food he gets as well, because i don't want a chubby puppy!  i didn't want him for the size, but rather the beauty of the breed, and his mum and pop together made a beautiful newfie!  thanks for the concern though! i'll have to keep you all posteD!
