Why would you ask? Just go get him, bring him home and tell your dear sweet wife that he's for HER.
How can she object? You have a dog of leisure and snuggling--she needs one of her own or your WHOLE RELATIONSHIP will get out of balance! It might ruin your whole LIVES if YOU have a big beautiful dog to snuggle and love on, and she doesn't! And winters are cold up there in the north country. Ozzy would keep you from freezing if the power goes out, but your wife could get frostbitten and lose her eyebrows if she doesn't have Zane to keep her warm--you wouldn't want her to be eyebrowless...
Besides, Zane needs a mommy. Do you know a better mommy than your wife?
I'm sure that everyone here can help provide you some really good reasons why you NEED to go back for Zane.
