63% (Dixie). Just under the Mason-Dixon Line

Bingo!  I was born and raised just south of the Mason-Dixon Line.  Nifty.

Hey Lins!!!  I'm 63% (Dixie) too!  Living in WV will do that crap to ya.  We left Virginia to join the Union, but still eat grits and drink sweet tea like true Southerners.  We're a confused bunch of people.  :-\
no kidding!  I still get teased for my heritage.

Hmm well sort of but I don't know the names they would use. The people on the east coast have a different accent, sayings ect than those on the west coast.

I'm 49% Yankee - I guess that comes from growing up in Nebraska/South Dakota but living in Louisiana for the last 10 years!!

46% (Yankee). Barely in the Yankee category.  I guess this is because I live in Cali and most of my responses were stuff used all over the US.  I didn't know that Soft Drink was a Southern term and the Y'all, Youse, You'n question was loaded.  I don't think anybody addresses a crowd as "You all" unless they an extremely stiff WASP.  I just say Y'all because it's more fun to say and you get a good reaction from others. In reality, I am a big time Yankee.  Both of my parents are from Ohio and my Great, great, great Grandfather was part of General Sherman's legendary march to the Sea.  He may have killed some of you Southern folk's distant Confederate relatives, SORRY!  :-\  Glad those insane days are a distant memory....

I was born in Sioux Falls, SD and grew up in Omaha, NE then went back to Sioux Falls for college. My dad is from Ipswich, SD - near Aberdeen and went to college in the black hills so I've been all over SD.

My husband is from New Ulm, MN - near Mankato.

I was born in Woodbury MN, a suburb of the twin cities (all my family is from MN.........my parents moved back there 6 yrs ago), and moved to Sioux Falls when I was 7.  Went to college in Vermillion (the original USD, and lived in Sioux Falls until moving to CA in Jan of 2004.

Edited to add:  I have friends that went to college in New Ulm, and I played in a volleyball tourney for several years in a row there.

Hubby did recruiting for the USMC in SD (where I met him) and recruited out of the Aberdeen and Watertown areas.
