Aloha from Hawaii! Not to make any of you jealous, but it is a warm 73 degrees today in Honolulu.
Anyway, I started a pet sitting business this April and would love to ask you advice on how to care for big dogs.
All of my clients have been smaller breeddogs and cats , but I hope to have a big dog client soon,
a Rhodesian ridgeback puppy.

I have been around big dogs all my life. They are great!

I look foward to becoming a part of your Big Paw community!

Welcome! It's great to have someone from the "islands" here! I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice here (like - always remember your drool towel) and now we all have a place to stay when we go visit Hawaii!!

Besides the drool towel, I don't think my small plastic gloves will do the trick for poo poo pick ups.  ;D

Hi!  Welcome.

could you tell me again about the weather?  Not that we know what 73 degrees is right now.  :)~  Oh I hate winter.

How do I handle big dogs?   Personally...I do it the same as with little dogs but with a back brace and slobber rag. :)

it is so nice right now that I can wear shorts and a light tee shirt to work. I've attached a photo I took this weekend when I was on Lanai. Hope it comes through. (it didn't)
I travel with my Husband often and we are always so grateful for the weather in Hawaii!
I am like you and do not like cold weather! It makes my tummy sore.

Hello and welcome.  I think I welcomed you in another thread, too, but now you're twice as welcome....... ...lol.

I run a pet sitting business too and the large breed are the same as the small......... ........other than the poop size, and if they're not leash trained, they can pull you around a bit more.  But for me, they're WAY more fun than the little ankle biters.  Just plant your feet when they jump on you, and be sure to wear old clothes.   ;)  ;D  Oh, and be sure to wear pants/shorts with pockets so you can carry around lots of plastic bags.   ;D
