cricket36580, is this guys Christmas wish come true.  Sorry for the long phone calls, we just can't hang up when it is dog talk.  I just got the copy of his paperwork from the shelter and I will call you as soon as they recieve the forms from GP rescue.  This guys life is going to be so good when he is loved.

Thanks for your offer Tom, the three of us will have to keep in close touch over the next week till this guy has his forever home.

No problem, I'm just glad that everything is coming together for this big boy.  Please keep me in the loop and if you need anything give me a call.

Guys you may want to kill me over this but I ask the shelter to let me know if they get in any Danes, Pyrs, Newf, Saints or other big paws.  It is a small shelter and the big guys do not have long when more room is needed.  It looks like we may just be starting a Southeast BPO rescue.  Goodhope we need you on board, when is the big move?  Please let me know if you would like to be on the contact list when a short term foster placement is need or just some help with e-mails, calls, and transport.

Overnight drop off?
Is that a fenced area to drop off animals?
Like returning a video to the rental place?

At this point, it is planned for early February, although the date has been moved back several times.  Originially, we would have already been moved.  ::)

Mother said she would like being on a contact list after we move, but we couldn't foster for a little bit.  It will take about a month to unpack and get our animals settled in.

It's a kennel type box to put them in.  Make me want to hurt someone, they could have at least put a note with him, with a name on it.

Not to steer off topic here, it is absolutely wonderful this old guy is going to have a good christmas.  But older male dogs tend to wander off, and I understand Pyrs have a habit of wandering in general, but maybe this old guy wandered off somewhere and some person picked him up and dropped him because it was so cold.  I thought about this afterwards... maybe my excuse for humanity or the lack of it, because I just can't comprehend the owner dropping off a dog they had for 7-8 years in a drop box.. just can't go there.  It still doesn't explain why the owner didn't show up to claim him though.

Good Luck Nick!

YET ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!

HE'S IN MY BACKYARD!!!!!!  Can you believe it????  I left him "alone" (with the kids loving all over him) for a few minutes to come in and give you guys an update.  He stinks to high heaven and WILL be getting a bath tonight.  Other than that, he's a big ole love-ball.  I've really got to come up with a better name than T-Rex!  I'm thinking Teddy or Nick or Thunder...  LOL  Have introduced him to the current residents and he couldn't care less.  Bella did her "I'm queen" routine and settled on down.  Foster was like "look mom...a new playmate".  This has been through the fence with me holding the 2 of them...because I had sense or something.   ;)Will post some pics later....

I like Nick, as in Saint Nick.  After all it is Christmas week and Santa did grant his wish "a home for Christmas".  I am just so very happy that he is with you.
