Yes you can read it now.  A girl has to take a break from quickbooks sometimes, anyway you told me I needed a break.

Oh geesh!....I forgot I started Bones.   I gotta find that.   It IS good.  It's been a rough month.

I read Dogs of Babel....It left me sick to my stomach.
I wish I hadn't read it.    Even now I don't want to think about it.

We need more book on our list.  So far we only have three more books.

The Other End Of The Leash by Patricia B McConnell
The Dog Listener by Jan Fennell
Dogs Never Lie about Love by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson

I've heard the Dog Listener is good but I've not heard about the other  ones.

Here's a couple of more that look good by Stanley Coren:

How to Speak Dog

The Pawprints of History, Dogs and the Course of Human Events

I'll look in my past "Bark" magazine for some more suggestions ;D!

What about Marley and Me by John Grogan?  I'm almost done with it and it was pretty good.

So who mentioned Dogs of Babel?  I am reading it and like you said it made you sick, I am having a hard time getting through it.  It seems a bit strange but, I guess I might continue to get it done.

Thanks,

I thought the concept of Dogs of Babel was interesting, yet I didn't want to read it, because I had a feeling it might upset me...

For just a fun, easy read, this book is pretty cute...

I also like Susan Conant's mysteries, for just for fun stuff - if you haven't read them, her detective is a dog writer and has two Alaskan Malamutes.  The earlier ones are better than her later ones...

I wanted to bump this thread because I just read 'Dogs of Babel' and I LOVED it.  I am a huge reader, and I have an idea for this thread.  Rather than having individual threads for books, we could do a book club and have all of the book club stuff in this one thread; for continuity.
(Like with 'fun with pictures')
Here is how I think it might be fun to do it, and obviously anyone else with ideas should bring them up so we can put this together in a way we all like.  Each month, we contribute ideas for books, as many people as want to do the book club thing.  We come up with a list, and you 'vote' on them, by including them in your list of ideas when you post.  Whichever book is contributed by the most bpo'rs is the next book of the month.  For people who go to the library for them, and have to wait on a waiting list, we could do two books at first, and then we would be a month ahead right off the bat.
In case anyone wants to do it, here is my list:

Geek Love (twisted, some people may not like it)

Blindness (similar to animal farm and 1984) (Jose Saramago)

Case Histories (I just started it last night, it's phenomenal) (Kate Atkinson)

The Time Traveler's Wife (Audrey Niffenegger)

Diary (Chuck Palahniuk) (same guy that did 'Fight Club' so it's likely weird)

The Things They Carried (O'Brien) (about vietnam, likely a tear jerker, but supposed to be wonderful)

:) come on board BPO'ers!

I'm up for Blindness or The Time Traveler's Wife, as long as this gets finished before summer's over.  I'd also really like to read Donohue's The Stolen Child.  I bought Light Housekeeping, but put it on the shelf.  If anyone likes sci-fi, The Uglies trilogy (YA) is fantastic.

I enjoyed Time Traveler's Wife but nobody else in my family liked it... ::)

I'm just about to start Plain Heathen Mischief by Martin Clark who also wrote The Many Aspects of Mobile Home Living  which was also pretty weird, but I enjoyed it....
