Gross question but...
« on: February 08, 2006, 02:36:51 am »
when your dog is sick, and vomits, does he/she eat it back up? I know that many dogs do and was wondering who here has had that experience. Is it wierd or normal to eat up that which has been thrown up?
Today Bear ate too quickly, got choked up and spit out some of his kibble. He threw it up on the far right side of his bowl then continued to eat the fresh food out of his bowl. Never once did he look back and want to eat the ABC food. Is he wierd?

OMG- daisy dose this ALLLLL the time- especially if i am feeding a small kibble food. I think it just gets caught in their throat and they cough it up- and being dogs- the eat it!!!

p.s.- my dog LOVES cat puke too...why do they bother flavoring dog food- someone need to make a barf flavored food!

Zoey doesn't ever eat things that she coughs up or throws up. But Boo (the other dog in my life) does eat food that he coughs up - it's not really throw up, it is just like he doesnt get it down his throat, spits it out, and then eats it again.

When any of my dogs throw up, it is a race to see who can get to the puked kibble fast enough to eat it. Apparently, it is quite the delicacy in my home!!! :P
