Do You or Don't You

Allow your pets on the furniture?

This is another reason we would like an addition.

My dogs are not allowed on the couch. The only exceptions have been the old dogs ( when they were still with us  :(). We do have 2 dog beds and some blankets in the living room and they love to lay by the fire. They are allowed on the bed only if invited, and most nights sleep in bed with us. My cat has free roam and will often sleep on the couch, or share a dog bed.

No dogs on the furniture, except when invited on the bed at night.
Thanks,

Emily and 1 husband, 1 boy, 1 on the way, and 4 crazy dogs

I love the pics!!! And more times than I can count, I've had to re-arrange my roomie's dogs just to get a small corner of the couch.... and by re-arrange, I mean pick up and put on my lap  :)

In my personal pack, I have a rowdy dobie mix - so I've taught her to wait until invited.... but that is only when I am in the room - I am pretty sure she is up on the couch when I am not.....lol

As for my sweet boy Blu.... he goes where ever he wants... and the newly acquired Riley.... well if he is not curled up in HIS green chair, then he is srawled on my bed.

Nope,  Day-z is not allowed on the furniture or in the bed. She does now sleep upstairs on her own bed, actually she has never once tried to climb onto the bed.....

When we go out she has free run of the downstairs of the house, but never goes on the sofas.  So, it would seem that i did manage to train her to (not) do something.

My doggies aren't allowed on the couch. My hubby put Kiah on our bed once and she looked confused. I have tried to get her to jump on the bed with me when hubby isn't home. She just stared at me. Kitana jumps on everything and we're teaching her not to. They have a huge doggy bed and Kitana has her kennel with fluffy blankets. They are very happy!

My three cats are allowed on the furniture. It's their safe place from the dogs. They mostly sleep on the back of the couch. They love the chair and are kicked out of it all the time. Of course they have to tell you about their displeasure!

I LOVE that picture how cute & funny!!

Harley is allowed on the couch when hubby isn't home!!!  When we aren't home he usually lies by the door on his rug staring at the door!!

Harley isn't allowed upstairs  :'( - when he was a puppy he would go into my kids rooms; steal their beanie babies and shake them until their little heads ripped open and beans were everywhere!!  So now he has to stay downstairs!!  Poor baby!

Dogs... on the furniture... never in my house! Okay, I've never acutally broke the news to the dogs as I didn't have the heart.  ;D

Submitted as evidence:
1 - Tinkerbell and Phoebe
2 - Flynn on his chair
3 - Too cramped so he retires to the sofa

I love all the pictures everyone has posted.  Please keep them coming.

For months we did not allow the dogs on the furniture and then one day Tyra started sitting on the couch.  Funny thing, when you have a dane they find it much easier to sit their butt on the couch then all the way down on the floor.  For a period of time I allowed this and had said as long as one foot was on the floor it was OK.  Then Tucker was sick and decided the best place to convalesce was in MY spot using MY pillow.  It was down hill from there.

My husband has drawn the line at the bed.  It truly is the cat’s refuge.  That and I really don’t think the seven (Me, Mack, Tucker, Tyra, Scooter, Bobo, and Aruba) of us would fit.
