getting bullmastiff puppy and cant WAIT
« on: March 13, 2006, 04:57:28 pm »
We aren't picking up our bully puppy until June 1st.  I CAN'T wait till June 1st.  OHHH it's everything I can do to not call the breeder every single day and say, 'how is she?  how are the pups?  are they still in her tummy safe and sound?'
Madness.  Sheer Madness.

How fun!  There's nothing more exciting than expecting a pupper!! ;D

Is your breeder doing live video feed of the puppies once they are born?  Chester's breeder did that and I spent HOURS watching them on the computer!  SO FUN!!!

Congrats on the expected new arrival and post any pics you get, 'k??? ;)

I am right there with you!  We have been waiting on an AM since July!  We are down to 5 weeks and I am about to DIE!  I can't wait to see photos of your new furbaby!

Oh the waiting is so hard!  I will definately post TONS of pics.  I have tried a couple of times to post pics of my furbaby Badger, but for some reason, they aren't getting posted.  I will work with it and hopefully be a pro by the time she arrives!

5 weeks?  I am SO jealous lol.  OK I know it's way too early to get into it, but what method of potty training do you use?  I crate trained Badger and it meant getting up every 2 hours to let him out cause thats how long his little tiny baby bladder could hold it.  I am DREADING that part of getting my puppy.  My husband won't get up (believe me I have taken note of that and informed all my eggs to STAY PUT).  In all fairness, the puppy madness is all mine and I wouldn't want to miss taking her out to do her business, its a time of bonding.  The training went great with him, he only went in the house once, but I understand that is common with Rotts, they are VERY eager to please.  I'm not sure how it will be with our bully puppy.
When you get your puppy you MUST put some puppy belly pics up so I can get my fill while I wait for my own little baby.

I got Jager at 7 1/2 weeks. It was about a week before he would sleep through the night without having to go potty. But I'd take him out about midnight and then again about 6:30. It took a few weeks before he was fully housebroken. I think he had about 4-5 accidents in the house and a few of those were my fault for not "listening" to him whining at the gate.

Good luck with the new puppy and of couse lots of puppy pics!

I know what you mean about talking about it ALL the time.  ;)  Seems that Boudreaux sneaks into our conversations a lot as well.  I am sure my in-laws are getting tired of hearing about him.  We are down to 18...count 'em, 18 days!

I join you all in the wait for a mastiff puppy!  My baby (Cane Corso) will be coming home in about 5 weeks.  When the puppies come, we will have to keep each other informed on potty training/crate training, etc. progress.  I'm new at all this but have been reading and reading and reading about the right way to do it all.  I'm sure I will have LOTS of questions when my puppy comes home.

Good luck in the wait for your puppies.  My boyfriend and I talk about it ALL the time and just can't wait til ours comes home!
Oh how FUN!!! Feel free to email me with emergency puppy disasters!

Very bummer news.  Jewel had a false pregnancy.  No puppers.  The breeder only has two females that we really want a pup from (she has 3 total) and those two aren't in heat for a few months.  Jewel won't be in heat again for 4 months.  So, the earliest we will get our Gossy will be November.  This sucks!!!!!!

Oh, that's so sad!    :-\ I don't know if I could stand the wait, I would be pulling my hair out.  You may have to find a substitue puppy until you can get yours.   ;)
