I don't even want to think of what is going to happen to these "Fad" dogs when the fad runs out. Grr and these breeders are obviously only in it for the money, GRRR

Yeah... this can't last forever. It's anarchy!!! Once the craze dies down, there will just be more dogs in the shelters, etc etc and things will go back to ... normal?

I haven't a thing against mutts/mixes/crosses...Whatever you want to call them...I've one myself...Howev er I do not like the idea of doing it on purpose for profit...So far, as I understand, there is no way to back up the claim that these crosses are hypallergenic/non-shedding/ or exibit the disirable traits & not the undisirable traits of one breed or the other...They sure are cute but so is my "Kuvador" :D (Kuvasz probably Lab mix) who we rescued from the shelter...Here is our Kuvador Rosie :D...Ain't she sweet? :)

and you know what is worse is that stupid club will accept a dog that is basically a mutt, but if you were to actually breed a labradoodle to another labradoodle, (which is how a breed is formed) they will not recognize it! it has to be the product of a lab and a poodle, even though it would still be the same % of lab and poodle. GGRRR! and the "breed" wouldn't be so bad if they actually got REAL lab people and REAL poodle people to work on them, then they would create another breed. ALL the lab people AND poodle people i know say that breeding the two is absurd, and they refused to work with all the freaks who bred them in the first place. creating a new breed is not a bad thing, and labs and poodles are both great dogs (did i just say that???), but they should have created them for a certain PERPOSE like you know, a lab is a retreiver, and dachshunds hunt badgers unground. anyway, sorry for the long, boring post it was just a MAJOR VENT!!!!!

That just makes me sick!  And Angry!  I can't believe they are encouraging this sort of thing!  It sets all rescues and they're people way back.  Who is going to care for these animals when they're so common that no one wants them and moves on to something "better"?  Will we have to stretch our already overworked, unpaid rescuers even furher?  or have to start new rescues specifically for these "breeds" taking away frlom the animals already out there that need hep. ARGH!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
