Just tried my "Furminator"
« on: March 23, 2006, 02:58:34 pm »
and it works GREAT!  The direction are really specific that you can't use it on mats or wet dogs but it did a great job getting the undercoat out!  Amazing!!  I think the main difference between that and the ellipitical tool that I had been using is that it holds the fur between the tines so it doesn't fly all over the world ( :P)

The are on sale at www.vetpetdire ct.com and I got the in between size...

Yes, it's a great tool!  How much did you pull off of your newfies?  I get a plastic grocery bag full when I furminate Zoe... maybe I should do it more often. ::)

Thanks for letting us know how well it worked for you newflvr.     I guess I gotta get one now :)

We could use a product review section on here, so we could tell each other what stinks and what works great, I'm all about not buying junk that doesn't work.

A grocery bag full - FULL!!!  They enjoyed the process, though.  I think they just thought they were just getting a good pet.  I started on Chester and Cowboy jumped out of the car (where he loves to nap  ::) ::)) and pushed his way in so he could have a turn!  Silly Cowboy!!!

Yup!  That much less hair that won't have to go through the vacuum cleaner now.

Wow!  I think I paid almost $60.  I've had mine for about six months.  The sale price is really good.

I have a question about this furminator.  They keep saying the "furminator treatment".  Are they just referring to the brush, or also the shampoo and other stuff?

I still don't know if I can justify paying that much for just a brush.  :-\

Yes,  we love the Furminator too!  I am thrilled to see on the one web site that it comes in a wider 4 inch version.  I think it does a great job as an extra tool and it sure does get lots of the undercoat out.  We can get a full plastic bag of hair off each one of our guys too.  I think that one link did have a great price, I know I paid a bit more than that about 2 years ago.
