Raw Paws
« on: April 11, 2006, 05:00:33 am »
Sorry we haven't been able to be on here for awhile!  We have a new addition to the family and everyone is getting used to Sydney including Herbie.  Anyhow, Herbie was at daycare on Saturday and he played for a while and now his paws are all raw.  The skin is peeled off of some of his paws and he could barely walk on Sun & Mon - today he is obviously feeling a lot better (barking and trying to run around!).  I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and if so how long does it take to heal?  We're throwing Herbie a huge 1st Bday party for him on Sunday and wanted to make sure he'll be OK by then.  He's acting a lot better than Sun & Mon???

Look at Herbie being such a good big brother. Your little one is beautiful.

My surrogate big paw GSD gets this from time to time. Particularly in the winter. We usually put some Vitamin E on it or Neosporin. He should be ok in a few days  :)
Dear Lord,
Just for today, let me be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

First of all, congrats on the new addition! :)

We had this issue once with Boo - he hurt his paws from running too much on the pavement (instead of the grass). The vet reccommended a little antibiotics and rest - other than that, it is just a matter of time for it to heal
