Does it still count?

If you are standing near your dog and tell her to down, and she walks over to you and lays on your feet, does it still count as a down?  ;D

Kate is a MASTER at doing it just like that!  If anyone tells me it doesn't count, I'm gonna be really upset! :o

When I say down, I follow Angus till he finally flops! I don't care if it takes all night, it still counts.  :D

My trainer says no, she says Kali is basically being rebeliuos when she does that during class. I say yes however because I learned long ago to pick my battles very carefully with Kali, especially when I thought she might hit 150#s, not a concern anymore though.
