Bear;s first "Swim"
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:08:57 pm »
She was hesitant at first but then loved going for sticks we threw out in the lake. She would not go out deep enough to swim though. I suppose I will have to wait til it warms up and I can go in with her!

He'll get the hang of it!! Angus done the same thing, except he would position himself to where the waves would bring in the stick and sit in the water and wait for it! I can't wait for it to warm up a bit, not for Angus he doesn't mind, but for me!

Great pictures of Bear!  She looked like she got the hang of it pretty quickly!  Keep on posting those pics!

Where did you find the beach in the hamilton area?

We got Bear near Hamilton but we live in Keswick -- 5 min drive to beach on Lake Simcoe

Well you are doing ok, at least she went into the water! Out of four Newfs I have only had the one who has just walked in and had a good swim.... Molly would rather die than get her feet wet ::), and the youngsters only like to paddle at the moment!

She looks Great!  We had to use treats the first couple of times to coax bava out deeper, and I had to get in with him.  But there was no stopping him once he figured how much fun swimming is.
