Great Pyrenees Discussions / Re: Barking-Discipline?
« on: June 04, 2006, 11:21:06 am »
I guess I'm lucky, Dyson is not a barker.  He just sleeps, eats, and guards our little girl by walking beside her where ever she roams.

Randy

I guess he just took a while to develope.  He Barks all the time in the evenings now..  Should of kept my mouth Shut.. :-)  I thought it was pretty funny looking through the forum and finding this, when I myself am looking for suggestions now.

Hi there! My name is Melissa and I am new to the boards here, I have a 115 pound rottie named Zeus who is the biggest baby in the world! He thinks he is a small dog and tries to live like a small dog! he is a trip! Anywya, just wondering if any of you order your frontline stuff on line? Is it cheaper than the vet? I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and it is a bit pricey. Thanks in advance for your responses!

Melissa

Many BPO members will probably frown on this, but I buy mine on EBAY and get the Australian FrontLine Plus 6 month for a grand total of $45 ($39+$6 S/H).  In my opinion it is no different than what the Vet sold me for $18 a vial..

Bottom Line.... My Wallet is happy and Dyson does not have Fleas..   :)

Great Pyrenees Pictures / Re: Dyson is a LAP DOG
« on: May 28, 2006, 07:07:11 am »
Dyson is looking good!...How old is he now?...Sammy is a lap dog too...He will back his butt up to where I am sitting & plop his big ol' butt in my lap...Ain't it great!!! ;D

He turned one year old on May 17th.  I always have to help get his back end up which is like picking up a bag of bricks.  Then he has to get situated, which can be painful at times.  I agree, that foot and half wide Butt, needs a backup beeper.

WORD OF ADVICE:  BPO owners please do not purchase Swivel Recliners, for when the BPOs sit down next to them, you never know which direction you will end up pointing... :-)

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Re: Question on Baby Teeth

Are his adult teeth in as well?
Farley had that too on one side. The baby tooth did not fall out.It was maybe two months ago so he would have been around 10.5 - 11 months that it finally fell out. I thought I would have to get it pulled.

Yeah, both his Adult upper Fangs are grown out, right next to the puppy ones.  I'm afraid he may get cavity's on his adult ones if I let it go any further.

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Question on Baby Teeth
« on: May 27, 2006, 04:18:55 pm »
Dyson is a year old now and still has his two upper fang baby teeth.  His brothers and sisters lost theirs long time ago.  Has anyone else seen this on a 1 year old?  They are very well alive (meaning white and very attached).  I am planning on taking him to the vet to get them pulled, but just had to ask.

Welcome to the Board, I barely have time to frequent it now since Dyson is a year old, but this board is wonderful when you have questions.

Well, I'm gonna try the ebay thing and buy Austrailian Frontline Plus for 6m/100+lb for $45 total. I check out Merial's Austrailian website and the packages match.

I am sorry to all for not posting new pictures of Dyson.  I will post them tonight when I get home.  Thanks for the advice on the food.  I have switched him to adult food and he loves it.

Great Pyrenees Discussions / When to take Pyr off of Puppy Food???
« on: January 08, 2006, 09:57:31 am »
Hi All,
It's been a while.  Asking for a majority opinion.  When shoud Pyr's be taken off of puppy food.  Dyson is a week shy of being 8 months old and weighs 80 lbs.  Is it time to take him off of Pro Plan puppy food?  I was thinking about starting him on Nutro, but haven't made up my mind yet (suggestions?).  I will be posting new pictures soon, for he has loss his puppy fluff and looks like a big macho male Pyrenees now.

Thanks,
Randy
