I grew up giving apples and tobacco as treats to horses.  Its really sweet and they love them!!!  I then had a husky that would eat cigarette butts off the ground.  She was slightly deranged... ;)

It's not bad for horses but I have no idea the effects on dogs ;)

Super cute pics.  Shes like "no! Mine!!!!" LOL!!!! :) :)

Im reading through all these posts and started to wonder:  Is there some connection between our love for our kookie characters on four paws and the men in our life?  Or more simply:  Or are men just men?  ;)

Thats it on the deep thoughts for the day ;)

Yep, my husband is 35 and still rides his motorcycle to work everyday.  Which wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that we live in Seattle and the roads don't only suck but it rains all day every day!  Then again i'd be out there on mine but the whole montherly gene kicked in a few weeks ago and i'm worried to get my pregnant butt on my bike  :D ;)

P.S. Got thinking of what a nerd my hubby was and forgot the reason to this thread:  Good healing vibes your way Mikey!!!!

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Need help with pigment change
« on: October 20, 2008, 01:47:33 pm »
Wait, nose pigmentation depends on sunlight?!  I've always thought Rasputin's nose was a mood ring of sorts.  When he was a puppy it was black, now its a light brown.  I'll add a pic.  And then sometimes is darkens up just a little.  Now im worried.  Could this be bad?!  :-[ :-[

I don't know, the snoring is a new thing for him.  Me thinks the husband has been teaching him bad things... ;)

Introduce Yourself to the Forum / Re: Mastiff tail wacking
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:15:50 am »
My aunt had a 120 lb lab named Bo and his tail was a WMD!!!  When she would come in town we had to clear everything off tables, counters etc..  She ended up having to dock his tail for the same reason.  He was such a happy excitable dog that he would hit it on the wall or their fence and split the poor thing.  Oh, it was miserable.  once they docked it they never had a problem.  Sometimes Bo would look behind him, i think it was "phantom tail", lick something that wasn't there and then walk away :) :)  So, docking a bull mastiff's tail would be really sad :( but if its what your girl needs, thats what she needs.

I took this pic the other day, I just thought it was too funny!!! Not only was he using a pillow (he's getting soooo spoiled ;)) but he's got the total face smear that babies get when they are sleeping so deep  :D :D  You can't tell by the pic but randomly he would start snoring (exactly like my husband) then would start wagging his tail!!!  :D :D :D  Never heard him snore before ;)

Oh Paige, I am sooooo sorry to hear about your losses.  You are a much stronger person than I.  I would LOSE it!  I keep wanting to get into rescue but I'm afraid of what it would do to me.  I have NO tolerance when it comes to the abuse that animals come to by people.  It sickens me  >:(  But we are all so thankful for your heart and your soul that you are here doing what others can't.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Thank you...

Two words: paper towels.  Anyone who has a Pyr knows they don't fetch, tug of war or anything too athletic.  But if you leave a roll of paper towels out BAM they are gone and Rasputin is the happiest dog in the world!!! Thank god they are cheap but after the hundreds? of dollars we have spent on store bought toys for the boy you would think he'd have better taste ;)

OMG!!! I want one i want one i want one!!! He is soooo beautiful!!!  I'm curious too, which personality does he hold most?  Could you imagine a Pyr's intelligence with a wolf's cunning???  Almost scary.  Watch your credit cards, he may use them ;)
