It’s almost two o’clock in the morning and I have to be at work in the morning, so I don’t have much time to write, but I wanted to let everyone know that Mallory is home! Thanks so much for all the good wishes and thoughts you've sent our way.
My mother and I were planning to drive to the airport to greet her alone, but my phone rang at ten o’clock tonight. My former boyfriend and his brother wanted to know if they could go meet my sweet girl, too. So, it turns out Mallory had a whole gang of humans to welcome her home.
She was wagging her tail so hard inside the crate that I could hear it thumping the sides before I even laid eyes on her. Then she licked my hand through the crate door and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
She’s pretty exhausted from her entire ordeal, so she ate her kibble lying down tonight, as any exhausted and smart Saint Bernard would do. It’s like breakfast in bed. I warmed some blankets in the dryer and she's safely snuggled in them right now, fast asleep.
I have a video which I’ll try to upload soon. She actually burped on video. Very ladylike, Mallory. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of my girl and I.
