Oh no!   I immediately flashed back to my daugher and the skin ripped off her elbows and stomach after Jilly pulled down the driveway when a chipmunk raced by.
My husband's didn't think before he opened his mouth reply was, "Why didn't you let go?"
Yea...right... ..spoken by someone who is 6 foot 4 inches and has never been pulled by a dog.  Geesh!
Have you ever tried a gentle leader?   They work great once you get the monster used to them.  Dog...not the husband.....al though.....hmm mm..... ::)

Feel better soon.

You are on to something.
What about the anal sac leakage?
A teeny tiny drop of that stuff is lethal.
If we could figure out a way to make that stuff smell like lilacs.....oh man!  We'd be rolling in the $$$$!!!!

This may sound corny, but I found being a stay at home Mom very rewarding.  Tina

I agree with Tina. Being a stay at home mom is my dream job.

Oh.....I miss that dream job.
It was one of the best times of my life.
Very little $$$
But the perks......pri celess.

Great subject line!  ;D

You know....I may have told you this before....but your puppers have the healthiest looking fur.  They should be on a commercial for dog food or something.  It is always so shiney and healthy looking.  Makes me just wanna bury my face in it.   Good work keepin' them so happy and healthy mom!

I am so glad that you have Jack to help comfort you.  It really is amazing how much dogs are in tune with their people!  I know Dazy is the same way with me, but with her being a puppy, she's still at that age where she's unsure what to do on the bad days.  lol  But it's certainly obvious that she knows something's not right.  I just love dogs!

YEAH Dazy!!!!  She will just get better and better as she gets older.  What a sweetie!

Jack really is such a good boy but he doesn't know before I have a seizure.  He's not one of those special dogs. Too bad....he would look so cute in that  little vest.   :)  Probably just as well....Jilly pulls any and all clothes off of Jack.  She just doesn't like it. Not even a bandana.  Go figure.

Jack just  knows when I don't feel well while it's happening.
Whether it's physically or emotionally.
Maybe it's because I saved him from a shelter that now he saves me all the time.

You guys must have dogs that snuggle in close......dog s know that you need extra comfort.   The kind of dogs that put their toys aside for an evening (ok...maybe just an hour) and cuddle you.

Tell me about 'em.

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Re: afraid of his shadow?
« on: January 08, 2006, 12:43:37 am »
Daisy isn't afraid of it....but she chases it.   ::)
And God forbid the sun shines on her tag (or worse...one of the other dog's tags)  and reflects on the wall.

I've often wondered what would happen if I tied a laser pointer to the top of her head to shine right in front of her.  She'd run forever.....or at least until the batteries ran out.

Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: Pic of my fat cat, lol
« on: January 08, 2006, 12:34:11 am »
Our cat (he passed on) would sit like that.  My kids would say, "Look at Tazzy....he's sitting like a fat little old man."    ;D

Hope that didn't offend.  I always thought it was kinda cute.
Tazzy was a Maine Coon.  At one point he topped the scales at whopping 28 lbs.
He was a lard butt.

Your kitty is adorable.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / I wonder how they know.....
« on: January 08, 2006, 12:09:42 am »
Today (Sunday) was not a good day.   I had the worst seizure yet.
During the "hectic time"of getting me into the house my husband had the kids gate the dogs. The dogs were freaking out.  My husband put me in the guest room (there was no way I could make it upstairs) and I remember pleading, "Please let the dogs in."
He actually gave in to my request before calling the ER.  Good thing I got his priorities straight.  ;) (It only involved unlatching the baby gate as he walked to the phone)

Jack (my oldest) immediately crawled in bed right next to me.  He's like butter.  He molds right to me....head next to my shoulder...nev er taking those chocolate eyes off of me and laying perfectly still.
Jilly kept watch from the foot of the bed...also perfectly still.
Daisy......wel l.....Daisy hasn't quite got the hang of it yet.  I sort of remember 111 lbs of Daisy sitting across my legs and my husband pulling her off.  She really is still at an age where she needs me more than she needs to watch over me.

Jack really is my hero.  He always knows when I'm ill.
I don't know how he knows but he does.
He was howling at the door before my husband brought me in from the car today.
He just always knows when something is wrong with me.
I don't know how many times....from the flu...to a bad day...to this recent health issue ....that Jack's fur has soaked up my tears.    He's always there.
Aren't dogs the best?
Aw....who am I kidding?   I'm preaching to the choir.  :)

Hubby has a friend at work....they thought their fridge was leaking.  Each evening they would return home to find a puddle of water at the base of the fridge.  Repairman couldn't find a problem.   They finally figured out that their dog filled his long lonely days with letting ice cubes loose every now and again.   ;D
They got a baby gate to keep the pupper out of the kitchen  and now their kitchen floor is dry.
