No harm - no foul, Lisa, on the shoes... Thats the great thing about hikers.... they wipe down well  ;)

It was great to meet you, Melissa and Brandon and most specially, Dixie and Sugar Bear.  I'm glad I was there to see Dixie get her Best of Breed award, she truly desrved it.  Since Sugar Bear wasn't able to compete in the ring I'm going to suggest that we award him the smokey-bear award, as being most likely to help put out a forest fire....  ;D

CONGRATULATION S!!!  I'm sorry I midssed it today; I had hoped to make it out there today, have to work again tomorrow (I drew the short straw this weekend  :-[ ), but I'm going to try to get out there for a few minutes before I have to be back to work!  Hope tomorrow goes just as well for you!

Definitely go with the treats and feeding.  I'd also suggest very gentle, friendly play between your husband and Foster with a favorite toy if he's willing to engage.  If the abuse was by a man, it could be hard to overcome, but if you are consistent, gentle and patient you should be able to do so.  If you and your husband  or anyone else are not in any physical danger, make a strong effort not to react to the negative behavior at all.  His agression will feed off of any strong reaction.  It would also help if Foster sees you as alpha, at least where the 'pack' is concerned.  If he sees this and he senses your approval of your husband's presence then it should help him to accept him also.  I hope  some of this is helpful.   Good luck and keep us updated....

What is one either fun, crazy or outrageous thing that you have done or would like to do... the one thing that would make your friends and/or family say "I'm surprised/impressed, I'd never have thought she'd..."?

Feste gets called a greyhound frequently (can't wait til he grows into those legs of his!).  When I take the crew for a walk around downtown - known as 'the parade' - I get one of 2 reactions usually.  People either cross the street, or they walk right up wanting to pet and coo over the 2 big ones, Feste and Chance...  Puck usually gets ignored or petted as an aftertought!

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: HELP!!! Dewclaw Injury!!
« on: November 12, 2005, 07:28:35 pm »
If it's just the nail itself and the powder has stopped the bleeding, then I would treat it as you would if you had cut a nail to the quick... i.e. keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't start bleeding again.   I wouldn't do too much trimming or messing about with it until it's been dry for a while, unless you think that there's a very good chance he's going to snag it on something and start it up again.   I would also check the area around it to make sure there's no other injury present.  If you cannot stop the bleeding, you may need to take him to the vet.  Any idea how it happened?

Sounds like fun.  I'd be up for it.
