there is a place in the middle east that a man gets stray dogs and chains them to a wall and starves them to death.  He calls it ART!!!!!!!!
People actually pay money to see the animals dying becasue it is supposedly considered and artistic thing.  It makes me sick!!!! >:( >:( >:(

We had that happen to a male  we had after he had gotten frisky with a pillow.   his "Lipstick"  would not go back in.  The vet told us to sprinkle sugar on it to make him lick it and sure enough that worked.  but told us to put something cold on it if that didnt work.

At least to my husband and I it is.  We have been having alot of trouble with Bell showing alot of aggresiveness towards Buble.

Well this morning after three weeks of having him, they PLAYED together.  I mean really played.  She was wrestling with him and doing her big butt in the air for play stance.

The ywere doing zoomies all over the yard running from there area to ours.  baxter just looked at them crazily saying that it was way to hot to act like that!!HAHAH (it is about 81 degrees here today)

I think finnally Bell has accepted that he is here to stay and that her Daddy is still hers.   O I was so happy ;D ;D ;D

That is really funny considering Bell killed her first squirrel Monday!!!!  I was grossed out completely especially since I love my baby squirrels.  We feed them religously.

The dogs have a huge area that we fenced off just for them and we have ours and I guess the squirrel just went into their "area"  Poor thing

Sounds to me like Buble has taken it upon himself to start getting you accustomed to those 2am and 4am baby feeding times. No need to set your alarm, Buble will 'call' you when it's time for the baby's bottle :) Really though, have you tried having a vigorous playtime before bed? Maybe if he was 'worn out' he might sleep a little harder?
Hahahahaha   Well I would rather do it myself I think!!!  Yea he is generally really tired and he goes in his crate at 10 or so and sleeps til 2.

All of our dogs have their crates in our laundry room.  Bell, Baxter and Buble are in there during the day while we are gone and usually it is just Buble in there at night but sometimes one of the others will want to sleep in there.

For the past two weeks everynight Buble has been waking up and barking at 2 and 4 or 5 in the morning. At first I thought he had to go out which he didnt he just looks at me like I am crazy that I dont want to play.

I have just been ignoring him and hoping that it gets better.  It doesnt matter if the other dogs are with him or not he still barks like this.  I want to get a hold of it becasue I can hear him all the way back in our bedroom and the babies room is going to be right across from the laundry room so I know she will hear it.

Help Please!!

We are trying to teach Buble to stand still for brushing and it is going very badly.  He is only our second dog to come along that is going to have long hair.

Baxter was very easy to train to be brushed and he loves it.  He will stand still for you and then he will roll over and let you get his under belly.

We have tried treats, toys, praise, and distractions.  None of it seems to help. he freaks out and starts to scream.  This is the same with baths. He screams like you are skinning him alive.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I know that I have to keep trying becasue he will never get used to it but I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to help me out!! ;)

Well thats a bummer Upstate Guide Dogs is no more!!  They closed their doors.  :'(   I don't see anything similar close by but I will keep checking!

Randy
O I hate that!! :'(  We were really excited about becoming puppyraisers.  The only thing about it is that you get to keep them until they are about 15 to 18 months old and then have to give them up for guide dog training. :'( :'( :'(
But I do know that if the dog does not have the personality for it they will ask if you would like to give them a forever home.
I had a friend who did it.  She raised a Black Lab puppy and he left her at 18 months.  She said that she cried and cried but then after months of guide dog training they were invited to see their puppy do what they had learned and you even met the person who gets the dog!!  She said that when you see the goofy puppy that you had and all of a sudden they are leading someone with such responsiblity and pride it is worth it.  She is now on her 5th puppy to raise after him.  ;D

Before I got pregnant we had applied to the southeast guide dog puppyraiser.  We heard back from them two months after I found out I was pregnant and decided to wait until baby was older to do it.

Thanks ffor the advice everyone.  I think that his first show is going to be in November but am not sure so we have plenty of work to do.
Can we take a vidoe camera or voice recorder to these shows so that we can get the noises and play at home? Just wondering if not then we will buy one.
