Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Do dogs get warts?
« on: January 03, 2006, 12:10:46 am »
Tick season is over here.  We also use frontline but not year round due to Maine's harsh winters.   But something else may have bitten her.   Maybe a spider?
My son found it this evening.  Could have been there a bit longer but not more than a week.
It is on the inside of her leg at the top.  It is raised up. Kinda hard to tell in the pic...sorry.   I caught her while she was sleeping and she wasn't too thrilled.
It isn't attached to the bone.  It's free moving and just part of the skin.
She isn't bothered by it.  I can touch it, move it around, push on it.....she just doesn't care.
My son did mention that it sort of looks like Jack's cyst did when it first appeared.  It also had a small blood spot due to a hair follicle that was irritated.   Too be honest....I don't remember what Jack's cyst looked like when it appeared.  I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for breakfast.

Good news is that she has an appt on Friday for her ear.   I'll have vet look at it then.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Take the picture. We can handle grossness, and it's hard to visualize without a pic

That's why I love you guys......you can handle grossness.    :)

I'm grasping but maybe IBD?

Vomiting is common if the stomach and small intestine are involved.
Blood panels often come back normal.

Like I said...I'm grasping.

I hope they figure it out soon and the pupper is on the mend quickly.

Was she taking any medication before this happened?
Anything to treat arthritis?

Daisy has this....this.. ..lumpy thing on the inside of her front leg.
I almost took a picture but thought that might be too gross.
It looks too big to be a pimple.
It does have a tiny spec of blood on it but basically it looks like a wart.

Any ideas?

I personally get so tired of hearing "why does your dog have a muzzle?" because he wears a Halti when we walk him.  That is my biggest pet peeve. >:(

Don't you just hate that!
I've said....
"Last person who thought that was a muzzle lost his hand.  Wanna test it?"

BTW.....LOVE the Halti/Gentle Leader.

You can download a trial copy and play for an hour.
I ended up buying the darn thing because of my sudoku addiction.

I like playing soduku online, but  I think I like playing it on paper better, because on paper you can write possible answers really small in the corner if you aren't positive of the answer, and that's really helpful for difficult puzzles.

You might want to try Ancient Sudoku.
It has the option of adding possible answers in the corners of the boxes.
I took a quick print screen.

Nigel is adorable.  I just wanna grab his cute little face and say, "who's a good boy? who's a good boy?"

When I do that to our dog my husband asks, "Why don't you do that to me?"
Maybe because I already know the answer.
 ;)

Games & Jokes / Sudoku anyone?

My stupid husband got me addicted to this game.
He plays on paper with a pencil.
I like playing on the computer....be cause if I had to use a pencil I'd probably end up erasing through the paper.

Anyone else playing this addictive game?

This may be an unpopular post but here goes.
When one of the puppers pass we will follow the same course that we followed when our Tazzy passed on this past August.
When our 21 yr old cat, Tazzy left us we had his body cremated but not so we could take his body back home with us.   His body was cremated with others who had left their bodies to pass on.
My choice on what to do with my pets body after they have left it has a lot to do with my own wishes after I've left my body.   I have asked that my body (after organ donation) be cremated and then scattered to the wind.

I believe that everyone needs to do what is right for them and I'd never impose my needs on someone else.

This was Tazzy as I remember him best....before the illness.....be fore the old age set in...
