Great photos Gyps.  I will get nerve someday and post a shot of mine on  Niki's every morning walk.  You should send the first one to Pepsi, sell it for bunches of money and take them all on a great long vacation.
Good Idea?

Wow, and I have been getting addicted to these Newfs and now you have made the addiction worse.  Well, can't get a Newf but am looking forward to spending a little more time with them and learning their mystic.

I know what a gentle leader is, tried a choke chain but it was not necessary, have never seen a prong collar but am curious about what it is.  My LOVE for control is the harness.  Safe, gives complete control and I love it with puppies because you can keep them safely right by your side where they belong.  WHAT IS A PRONG COLLAR?

Awwwww so cute.  I want to reach in the screen and hug her.  How about Katrina since you got her during the storm.

That's it.  I am tired. It is late.  I've had a little wine.  Promised myself I would go to bet about an hour ago.  I will not keep reading posts.  I will not, I will not, I will not, well, maybe just one more.

Welcome.  There are so many Newfs here that now I am getting addicted to them.   They seem so sweet.  Tell me something, do people turn heads when you walk in crowds?   Do they talk and giggle and try to hug?  I would if I saw one walking down the road. They always have such smiles on their faces.  I am getting hooked.

I would just call her a lab mix.  What did the people who gave her to you do to find her owner?  Since she had a collar, you might want to check with the Humane Society to see if anyone has reported her missing.  Or you could run an ad in the paper, found dog ads are usually free.  It is the right thing to do for Katie and everyone could feel better about it.  Then if all efforts fail, you can spend your money on a vet and give her a good home.  GOOD LUCK

Thanks, now you people make me feel better.  I was not bragging about our work, just feeling a little depressed about the money.  Thanks for making me not so uptight.  Even my husband said it was OK.

Well, I just finished Niki's vet check that she needed to be a therapy dog and it went well except for a few details.  First we ended up with a rabies shot that really wasn't due because the tech didn't read the chart that she wasn't needing another booster for a year.  Shot was given before I caught it.  The heartworm test with a stool sample (which I had to climb under an orange tree in the grove to get) cost $45 and, of course, was negative.  Other shots $20.  I opted out for heartworm meds because we do not have a very big problem down in the valley here only in the hills and mountains, that would have been another $40 and I know I can get it cheaper on PetMeds.  Grand total for vet $92.00.   Then there was a trip to Sonora for test $30 gas only.  $20 for tests.  Now $35 for TDI registration.  Then $45 to buy a large sized cape that says Therapy Dog.  $5 for CGC certificate.  Maybe EBAY has some used capes. hmm will try that. Then to work in a hospital I need a TB test for me and an orientation session with the hospital. Then I will even need a background check, I think compliments of the hospital   Being a therapy dog - priceless (I suppose). I was really excited, now I am wondering who is getting rich on my volunteer work.  :-\ :-\ :-\  What do you think?
