Thanks everyone for all the nice things that you've said about our little girl.  I love to post pics, especially so I can see everyone's avatars.  I love all your doggies, they're all great shots!

Thanks guys, we think she's pretty cute too! ;D  The whole reason we didn't crop her ears was because she has so much personality with them- she's a big goofball! :D  She has grown so quickly, she's still putting on about 5 pounds a week.  She's gonna be a big girl!

Here she is, almost 6 months old now.  I can't believe she's already been with us for 4 months, although it seems like she was always here...  anyway, this is the closest that she can get to Oscar, our little "scaredy-cat".  They are getting along much better now.  And the pics of Maggie on the couch is where she always goes- it's her spot! :D

I like the pillow idea, when she's out of the puppy stage I might try that one.  Thanks for the help guys.

Those are good ideas, thanks.

I've never heard of Pets Plus, is that like Petsmart or something?  I saw some there today and they were around that price, I was just wondering if there were any cheaper.

Golden Retriever Discussions / Re: What happened to the Goldens?
« on: March 06, 2006, 04:56:09 pm »
I grew up with Goldens, and our dogs were always very well-behaved, except for one female, Bailey.  She was just not a nice dog.  I rarely run into aggressive or badly behaved Goldens, but it does happen. Just like with any other breed, there are always those few that don't fit the norm.  Maybe you just see so many Goldens that it seems like they are all like this, but you see all different of other breeds, so you can't group them together.  Do you know what I mean?  But I do agree, it is mostly the owner's fault.  Oh, and just to add this in:  one of my friend's students got bitten by a Golden just a few months back... but you never really know what happened to provoke...

Collars, crates, & other cool things / Giant Breed Dog Crate, Cheap?
« on: March 06, 2006, 04:50:15 pm »
We need a new bed(crate) for Maggie (again, and already ;)) and I was hoping someone knew where to find cheaper priced but not cheaper quality HUGE beds?  We'd like to buy this one last bed and be done with it.  Any ideas?

Maggie would love it!  She hilarious around big dogs, she just doesn't care!  She's so goofy, and has the best time!  Let's set up a date.

Those look really nice.  How much is she asking?  Does she have a website, or other pics?  In a few months when Maggie's bigger I want something like that.  Let me know.

Angus does love my little Maggs, but so does everyone.  Even he can't keep up the bully crap with her around! :-*
They had a great time yesterday, and she slept all car-ride home and straight through until this morning.  Those boys wore her out. lol. :D

So, what you guys are saying is that this might be acceptable?  I don't get it, b/c she bred harle X harle in the first place.  Doesn't that mean that she doesn't know what she's doing?  I'm very happy that the little puppy came out seeing and hearing, but should you really push it beyond that?  And, I don't know what color she's planning on breeding the all-white female with anyway.  It could be another of her two Harle males...  I don't know.  I just don't know about all of this.  I'm very disappointed, and I have been since I first found out about the harle X harle breeding.

OK...so we got Maggie from a breeder in Atlanta.  I talked to her, got a feel for her, and felt that she was a good breeder and knew what the he** she was doing.  I posted a few months ago that she had bred a harle to harle after Maggie's litter (Maggie's litter was a harle to mantle), and only had a litter of 3 live pups: a merle; an almost totally white female(but she can hear and see); and a totally white male that is deaf.  She should never have bred harle to harle.  Well, she has decided to keep the white female, and I saw today (on her website) that she plans to breed her when she's old enough!!! WTF???  Is she a total idiot or what?  Am I right, that you should never breed a dog with genetic defects?  An all-white dane is not normal to begin with, but then to turn around and use her for breeding???  What is wrong with people??? >:( >:( >:( >:(
