Somehow I missed this thread entirely, sorry to hear all that you and Rosie have been going through. Its nerve racking but all you've got to do is look at how well Fumble has done. He is extremely high energy and damaged both of his ACLs at relatively the same time tearing one completely (the one they repaired already) and partial tearing the other, the reason Kali and Fumble haven't had any play dates since April.

Bear looks a little put out by this whole episode, I'm guessing he didn't get to go fishing this time. Are the paw protectors Ruff Wear?

I worked with a GCMS in a college lab, during my orientation to the lab it was explained to me that if a smoker sneazed in a sample before it was loaded in the GSCM, it would more than likely show traces of nicotine along with everything else in a cigarette, to say they're sensitive is an understatement .

Its great to see Bear again, I would love to take Kali on a trip like that but all my friends are of the anti bush peeing persuasion as someone mentioned. How long of a hike was it, you implied three hours so around 10miles, thats a good haul.

Ever seen a real black bear, thats not a cub thats a full fledged bear. He's cute, I'll have to see if we have any pics of Fumble the Explorer when he went through our different landscape beds.

We are just starting to experience this with our grandmother, nothing like what you've dealt with as she is much, much older and just starting to really show the signs of dementia/alzhiemers, but still scary. All you can do is cherish the moments like the one today and hope for more like them, while remembering the person as they were. I say as they were because in the case of my grandmother she has turned into a very mean person and if you didn't know her as she use to be you could never tolerate the person she's become.

Heres to hoping for more days like today!   Tim

She is growing quick and cute as ever.
The second pic of her is a big paw trait. Our friends had a Great Dane that would do exactly that, and the owner of the IW puppies that were in Kali's puppy class said one of her's would back up to the couch and sit his butt on it. Who says we get these guys for companionship, their for entertainment.

Yeah it'll be great unless Sierra's like Kali was Sun night watching the meteor showers. I took her out back with all the lights off and we're sitting in the grass watching the meteors when all of sudden she starts growling and climbs up in my lap. Her job was to alarm only only, I had to do the protecting. There really was something in the field though because as I was bringing her in the house I could hear somethin moving through the high grass, oh well

Next step is letting her sleep with you guys! ;D

This car is great, Erin let me drive it home from a cousin's place last night. On the way we stopped and topped off the tank it took 2.6 gallons to go just over 100 miles ,with our lead feet driving, thats like 38-39 mpg! People online say we'll do even better when we tone it down a little, some are seeing near 50 mpg but most are in the high 40's, how cool is that with price of fuel constantly going up like it is. Kali has a similiar deformity in her front legs. It originates in her carpals (wrists). We were  concerned enough to have a consult with a Professor of Orthopedics @ Tufts. I can't remember her diagnosis but she told us if it was worse she would consider surgery but Kali's wern't bad enough to warrant the risk. Basically I'm saying ask your vet next appointment or if you get an opportunity to go to a Newf Funday you could ask around for a Newf certified judge and get their opinion. Tim

Think we can borrow her to teach our waders Kali & Fumble how to swim!
