we hope lola gets better!

77
we are home, diagnosed with moderate food bloat, he did wonderful overnight and they loved him. No food until tonight at the earliest and very short slow walks during the day, the ride home with filled with kisses galore, I am so happy to have him home.

78
i barely slept last night and can go get him this morning, I am actually getting ready to leave now, had to wake up a little.

79
Ok, I can not sleep, I just called to check on him, no vomit, no diarreah, he is resting with an iv.... :'(

he was at daycare today, when I picked him up they told me that he tried to eat another dogs food, well come to find out he gorged himself, and the did not see it. So we go pick up his new food, go by my friends house, he had massive blow out booty, I did not think too much about it, then we get home, I fed him and immediately he started screaming and his tummy was tight and swollen. Basically he had a lot of food in his tummy which if left untreated could cause bloat

81
I miss him soooo much, he is so sweet and his little face, I can't wait to see him in the morning  :'(

82
that is ridiculous! They should ban bad owners!

83
she is wonderful, you can call her anytime day or night and she does not mind. We have a 24/7 list for the owners of her line as well.

If it would have not been for his breeder, I would have been a nervous wreck entering the building, she stayed on the phone with me until I went to open the door. She is wonderful! She kept telling me to calm down and telling me how to keep him calm. I am so lucky to have her in my furkid life, she is absolutely the best!

i got him there before he bloated, but since he would not throw up for them I chose the overnight care, he is at the best Emergency Vet in Charlotte, they were so nice and said that he was very stable when I left and was walking and on an iv. I cried the whole way there so scared that he would not make it, but I got him there in a lot time thank goodness. It was weird, he ate and only 1 cup of food then started screaming and his tummy was swollen and then he pooed then kept screaming, so I loaded him up and we went straight to the vet.

86
Well, I just left the emergency vet w/out my baby! Taking some really
good advice I am drinking wine as that is what I had at my house.
Obviously he got into some food at daycare today and when I came home I
fed him as usual and his tummy immediately swelled and he started
screaming! Off to the vet we went, good news he is stable, but would
not throw up for them so I opted for overnight care. I will be up
cleaning all night. I already miss his sweet face!

Ironically I started feedind Adak Wolf Cub, I use to love it, his poop was never good and is not water, I had to take him to the vet this week for a full out worm test which was neg. I am swtiching him again.

« on: August 13, 2007, 02:11:52 am »
I have a friend that is moving back to NC from California at the end of the month. 2 problems...1-Heat 2-he is a big paw. He is lap mix, she is shooting for a red eye flight for him and I will pick him up at the airport, the only kicker is the heat we are experiencing, 24 hrs prior to the flight they may cancel. do you guys know of any airlines that can help, or is anyone travelling cross country in the next few weeks?

Food Discussion & Information / Re: Nature's Variety

I use the Natures Variety Raw Frozen patties and turkey necks along with kibble. Adak loves it. We have not tried their kibble yet, but we use that with Solid Gold (use to be Eukanuba, but not anymore). I feed one meal kibble and one meal raw, his coat is wonderful and his poo looks good.

Food Discussion & Information / Re: ~*To soak or not*~
« on: August 05, 2007, 02:51:55 pm »
I just put a little water over the food, not all the time, especially when they are teething. I have looked online reg. benefits of either one and just came to the conclusion that it would be best to just put a little water on it, not actually soak. We are on Solid Gold Wolf Cub now and it really does not expand. I think it just varies.
