Good job, Bear!  Did he growl loud enough for everyone to hear or just a quiet warning to you & a "back off" to the guy?

Bear rarely growls and always kinda has me wondering if he is protective because he is usually so passive. He's growled a handful of times at other unaltered males before the big snip-a-roony but since has done nothing. But, yes, to answer your question, he did growl loud enough the first time. After that it was more of a growl I could feel through the leash and kinda hear but I think the intense stare, slow walk and posturing freaked the guy out.

Bear did get lotsa love and kisses when he got home for a job well done!

BTW, are Fumble & Bear really related?  If so, how cool is that?

Hey GoldenPyrs,

No fumble and bear aren't related... bear's a little older.  But man they do look alike?  I would LOVE for them to meet someday!  I can only imagine the two goof balls together!  lol!!

They aren't directly realted but if I remember correctly, Fumble does have a partial link from Brear's breeder in Fumble's line which does make them family somewhat.

Last night Bear and I were crossing the street after our finally potty. It was dark, about 9:30 and it was just the two of us since Michael was in class. People were around but nobody particularly creepy or anything in my opinion. Anyhow, before we crossed the street a new bunch of people arrived and stood near us but not to close. Bear turns around, looks at one guy and growls. I couldn't believe it! The guy looked ok and wasn't to close but Bear wouldn't let go. I told him to "leave it" and that it was ok but as we crossed he kept staring at the guy and growled again. The guy moved from the left of Bear to complete other side of the cross walk and then quickly walked down the street. I am so proud of my boy because he protected his momma by sensing something I couldn't. What a good boy huh?

Clifford to answer your question, last time we were at the vet he weighed in at 176.  With his diet changing lately he lost a little, but he looks like he's back to 175 if not more.  but man he is solid!  I've always kept him right at the brink of correct weight.  Gotta keep him healthy any which way i can.

I am so glad to see another big boy. Bear ballooned after the neuter but I think he looks great- just like Fumbs. Bear is at 165 now.

Here is a funny for you- last night I showed Michael the pic of Fumbs face and was like "aww...he is so good looking!" Michael goes "duh? we see him everyday!" I was baffled and go "uh- that is his twin, fumble". we laughed and he was like "well, the genes don't lie. even though they aren't directly related they are close enough and it shows!"  :)

I think the comparison is funny but loathe the comments made by the people. Some are just mean!  >:(

How awful! At least you know how this story ends and you can rest easy knowing she is finally at peace.

That is the funniest picture I've seen in long time! I love it!! Bear rarely uses his water bowl but uses the next best thing, close to Clifford, the tub faucet. He climbs in regularly and waits for his fresh water.
