Medical Conditions & Diseases / Addison's Disease
« on: February 06, 2009, 01:26:31 pm »
It's been so long since I've posted here, but read it everyday.
My 6yr old Basset, Tilly, was diagnosed with Addison's, November 21, 2008. Just wondering if there is anyone here that has\had a dog with this, and how did you cope with it? We are still on a rollercoaster with balancing her levels. I'm not giving up, but sometimes I get so tired of the challange. Any advice will be greatly appreciated  :)

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Molly update
« on: May 10, 2006, 06:11:07 pm »
In Feb, a very good friend of mine posted a question here for me. My Basset was losing her hair. We got some really great suggestions, and it also got me hooked to this site. Although I don't post often, I read it daily.
Molly is on her 2nd brand of food now, and I think that she is starting to get some new hair growth. Yippee!!!
The problem now is... last month she had this small lump on her back. I took her to the vets. They put her on antibiotics and told me I could hot pack it. well.. it went down and also drained (yuck), just when I though it was going away.. it started to get big again. Yesterday it was just a bit smaller than the size of a golf ball.. Long story short, we are going to the vets in the morning. I hope it's just a cyst, or an abcess. please think good thoughts for us. You people are wonderful! You enlighten me everyday. :)

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / adding a paw print
« on: February 11, 2006, 09:08:01 am »
I have been a member for about 3 weeks now. I love this site. Although my dogs hights don't fit into the criteria of a "big dog", their paws do :) I thought by creating a profile, I would have a paw print, I just can't figure out how to add theirs? I click on "add Your Paw Print" and it takes me to my profile page, but then what?
thanks for any help you can provide.
