I am ever so greatful that Jager is NOT a digger. He will dig in his sandbox or slightly at the beach. (I think he's playing with seaweed more than digging though). My neighbor's dog (lab/chow mix) digs out of their yard all the time. I've chased him down the street, through my yard, pulled him out of someone else's truck, everything. Most times he'll just lay on the sidewalk a few houses down. My neighbor is actually getting ready to line their fence with concrete to stop Bear from escaping.

Jager sleeps on his back with no modesty for anything. He just lets it all hang out! I'll sit on the floor with my legs out and he'll lay in my lap on his back with his head on my stomach and purr. Yes, Jager will purr. I'm starting to think he might have been a cat or human in a past life because he cries "mom" too. If he has to og in his crate because elderly people are around that aren't steady he will whimper and cry "mooooooooom" until he's allowed back out!

If I can get a video of it I'll post it!

OMG! Thankfully you got involved! That poor dog. I live near Tampa, FL and can't stand the thought of Jager being outside in the heat for too long and this poor dog was in a building with no ventilation?!

You've made a puppy-friend for life!

Wow I'm so sorry your having problems between them! I have a friend that had three hybrid wolves and it sounds like what happened with the Alpha crossed the bridge. The other two remaining were fighting over who was now the Alpha.

I am SO sorry you had to rehome your boys.

Don't let anyone that is not in your situation bash you. If they are not in it, they can't pass judgement on you.

We're all here for you.

Haha...Laney looks just like Jager in her crate!  She just loves being funny!

I'm starting to think Jager has no dignity when he lays like that. At least when he lays in my lap (okay between my legs) he usually covers himself witha paw if there is a camera around. I'm not looking that great in the picture but oh well we had been wrestling and playing in the kitchen.

I actually leashed up one of my dogs a number of years ago and followed a poop-leaver home to their house. When they came out to ask me why I had been hanging around their front yard for 20 minutes I told them I was there to return the favor. Then I handed them a plastic bag and offered to show them the way back if they didn't remember where the deposit had been left. They changed their walking route AFTER they came back and cleaned it up.

That would work if they weren't like 8 and 10 years old. Their mom doesn't like them wandering too far.

His crate is only for his piece of mind now. During thunderstorms he's more comfortable in his crate than wandering around, plus we've upgraded to a 54" crate from the 48". He has townhome living now instead of apartment! HEHE

I've had my crew in a number of different vehicles that are much smaller then the Zuki, so I think your new addition will be fine.

Here is my list lol

Nissan 240sx hatch back-Great Dane adult male

Pontiac Grand am- Great dane, shep mix and 1 chihuahua, plus all our camping gear for a 5 hours road trip.

Dodge Durango- 2 great danes, 1 shep mix, enough camping gear and stuff to sink a ship- 11 hour road trip to Indiana

Chevy Colbalt- 1 great dane in the backseat

Hyndai accent- 2 great danes in the back seat

and various other rental cars with a dane in the back lol

I'm now at a Saturn Vue.  Atticus fits perfectly with his bed at the back (trunk area).  When Osiris comes along, we fold the back seat down as well.  The chihuahuas float around the cabin area lol.  I think the zuki is a bit smaller then the vue, but not by much.  The point I am getting at is, I dont think you'll have a problem :)

Wow! Thats about as many cars as I've had!

Bullmastiff at 115lbs would cram himself into the back seat of a Toyota Celica. He was cramped but very happy back there. My windows were slimmed to prove it. People at the Ft. DeSoto Paw Playground just watched in shock/horror as he bolted out from behind the seats.

I've "upgraded" to a Mazda6 5-door, those 5lbs he gained means he outgrew the Celica.  ;D If his royal highness doesn't have enough room to romp I just lay the seats down so he has the hatch area too but he forgets/doesn't realize the glass is there so it's funny when he cracks his head on the back window.

::Hangs head:: I admit it. I'm a BP owner and a window tapper. I'm so ashamed! Well, I'm not a window tapper so much as a window starer-er.

No matter who walks Jager we always ALWAYS clean it up. Obviously, pee you can't. But, thats why he most time aims for the telephone poles. However, he doesn't poop in the front yard because thats where my 2yo niece plays and I don't need her eattin' a "snickers."

My neighbors kids have a little rat-looking fuzzy thing that drives Jager crazy. The walk their dog across the street (to my side of the road) then stop in front of my house and let that little ankle bitter pee and poop all over my yard (my side of the sidewalk not the cities side) then leave without pickin it up! The human ankle bitters just look at Jager and I in the window as Jagers trying to go through the window. It does not good to ask because they just bring the dog out more!

I'm seriously thinking about letting Jager chow down on a little too much peanut butter and walking him too their yard and stand there for a while. It's really hard to pick up liquid.....

As far as the poison thing goes, I'd give them a little human poison like ex-lax in baked goods but thats taking it seriously to the extreme! LOL I'm evil I know.

I agree with everyone so far. It's sad and heartbreaking reading all of the stories this past week. Sitting I can just look over at a "poor" bullmastiff who is simply content curling up on couch.

I'm more inclined to believe that the caretaker suffered a heart attack with the dogs biting him after, but not intending to harm him. I know if I lay on the floor in an akward position or for too long Jager will come over and pull on my arm like "Come on Mom. Time to get up!" Didn't the same type of incident occur with Roy and some BP cat aka tigers? He tripped and the tiger freaked out. He didn't mean to hurt Roy he was trying to "help."

I'm leaving the whole Michael Vick thing alone. How can this be going on at your house for 5 years and you not know about it like he first said? Grrrr!!
