Look at it this way Drake: It takes a strong masculine guy to defy convention with a fashion statement like that. You are one in a million.

Oh Drake we are so sorry you are having problems with hot spots.

You tail looks very good on you!  By the way Harley would let you cut his tail that way if you brought him to such beautiful places!!

Feel better soon!!

Thanks guys, Drake appreciates your sympathy.  It's going to take a while for his tail to grow back to a true Newf look, but we still think he's handsome!  ;)

Awww Drake.  Barkley had his tail shaved in exactly that same hair style due to a hot spot, and I can tell you that it does grow back.  hehehe...pardo n me for laughing, but it just brought back the memory of that tail!  The groomer had done it because of the hot spot, but had also put on his purty kerchief at the end of the groom.  We woke up the next morning to find him, paws crossed daintily on Sheba's big fluffy pillow, tail curled in the air, proudly displaying his kerchief.  My husband bellowed "uncross those paws, tuck that tail in, get rid of that kerchief and act like a NEWF!" hehehe

You will have a fluffy new tail in no time!

ROFL I'm sorry, but that is just hilarious.  I know newfies have a sort of 'serious dignity' about them like rottys do, and I know that Badger gets very embarassed when he feels made fun of.  I try so hard not to laugh at him when he is in this kind of perdicament, its just all the more funny when they are so proud.
Did you have to leave the little poof on the end?  That pushes it over the funny edge!
 :P :D
Give him a hug and don't breathe a word to him of our laughing!

At least Drake has an excuse!

I remember when I was little, the neighbours shaved their (mostly brown) roughcoat Saint - all except for the tip of his tail and a ruff around his neck.  He looked just like a lion!!!  LOL!
