We went over to Chuck's house again.  Laura was out in the backyard.  She was naughty and she and Chuck had an argument.  she was in time out in the yard pouting.  :)  so i took some pics.  she looks so cool in the yard i think. 
this is as close as he will let me get...from the outside fence. her dogs won't let me get any closer either. 
Laura is 22.  i'm not sure if she's skinny or not.  she only weighs 9,000 pounds.  is that small for an elephant?  I know the bulls are a lot bigger.

Chuck bought her a long time ago and makes a living with her.  they do shows and movies and rides and fairs, etc.  he's the only person in Michigan with an elephant.  HIGHLY regulated too. i'm assuming he got her from a zoo getting rid of them. 
he owned a bull, but he died.

That's pretty awesome, I've only been close to elephants at the zoo. Talk about a shocker if he had new neighbours!

me too before this. 
He does have neighbors but about 1/4 away and across the street.  he has electric fences all over his yard. and major BEWARE OF DOG signs posted
we're going back when he has Laura in the front yard.

that is so neat! here we all were thinking it's just regular country life...when infact it's super bigpaw, johndeere, elephant country life!!!now that gives the idea a whole new meaning!!! it sounds realy fun out there, what's grace think of the big girl?

BTW  ::)i have elephants walking through my back yard all the time  ::)

it is a regular zoo/tractor pull out there.  Grace loves the country life.  not too geeked about the cows though. 
she hasn't met the elephant.  Chuck is pretty pretective of Laura and about her.  He has $500,000 insurance on her and has to be careful that no one gets hurt period. 
We all have elephants walking around in our yards. :) HAHAHA
Chuck acts like it's normal. 
Laura wasn't speaking to him Sunday ... but when his wife got home from work Laura perked up and started posing.  She was upset with Chuck and thought Mama would coddle her.
